Mauidandy's Planning Bio
Welcome to my planning bio!
I am beyond excited that I finally get to marry the man I have been in love with for years!!!
I have so many uncoordinating ideas for this wedding, I'm hoping to pull them all together to throw the most spectacular destination wedding ever.

Our Story!
Ryan and I met during college, and I was actually casually dating his old roommate at the time! He invited me to eat lunch with him and Ryan one day, and I remember feeling butterflies after we had been introduced- he had the most gorgeous blue eyes I had ever seen. A year later, I was single and not really looking for anything. A mutual friend of ours threw a "wine party" at his house, so I dressed up and went with my girlfriends. Ryan was there, and we instantly reconnected and spent most of the night talking and hanging out in the living room on the couch. He got my number before I left, and we've been together for almost 6 years now!
A few of our favorite things include drinking wine and visiting the local wineries down Route 66 in the summer, Vegas and playing poker/blackjack together or with friends, our cat Bella and trying new local restaurants around the city.

The Engagement- August 16, 2009
Here's what happened!
Ryan told me to take off work one weekend for a surprise trip. He wouldn't tell me where we were going, and I had to pack my suitcase without any help. When we got to the airport and were checking in, the luggage guy ruined the surprise by yelling out Ryan's last name and then, "To Vegas, right?" AHHH!!!
So we got to Vegas, and he had a limo waiting to take us to our hotel. It pulled up to...The Bellagio! We checked in and I found out we had a giant suite overlooking the water show. It was amazing.
The whole weekend is a blur...we went to our favorite restaurants, got a couples massage, played blackjack...and he didn't propose until the very last night! We saw a Cirque du Soleil show at The Mirage (The Beatles LOVE, very cool!) and got back to our rooms around midnight.
We were laying on the bed, talking about the weekend and he said he had such an amazing time. Then he said that he knew we would continue to having an amazing time for the rest of our lives!
He got up off the bed and pulled me off too. Then, at midnight, just as the water show outside our room was starting...he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. He pulled out the most gorgeous ring I have ever seen (and I should know, I picked it out, haha!) I took this picture right after it happened.

Venue- Olowalu Plantation House
I could not have dreamed up a more perfect place to get married than Olowalu. It's private, right by the water, and has the cutest house with a wrap-around-porch that we get to use for the day of the wedding!
It is pricey, since you have to bring in all of your vendors and they only book 6 full-day weddings per month. I have a date held for June 9th, but we can always switch the date later. I haven't signed a contract or made any payments toward it yet. The important thing was to save one of those spots early! They were almost booked up more than a year out!

**Update- we booked Olowalu for June 10th! This is really happening!

Dress Inspiration!
This is one of the things I am most excited about! I want strapless, simple and maybe mermaid or A-line. Nothing overdone, poufy or showy, but not too plain. These are some of my favorites- Jim Hjelm and Maggie Sottero gowns.
In No Particular Order
A montage of ideas! I will organize them a little bit more later in the planning process....
